New City Logo Redesign

A city logo is a visual representation to solidify a distinct city personality, promote tourism and business, and bolster a positive perception by inhabitants and the rest of the world. The City of Pasco’s current logo and mark dates back to the 1960s, and while it represents a large part of the city’s history, the City has grown and flourished into so much more since then. The City needs a logo that represents what the community has become today.

To accomplish this, the City has contracted with local marketing and design agency BrandCraft to design the City’s new logo. BrandCraft will be gathering public input to create concepts for the new logo design, and ultimately the final City logo.

Above all, the people and community make the City what it is. This logo is not just the City’s logo, but everyone’s in the community. The public’s input is vital to the design of the new logo. Before any design work begins, BrandCraft and the City will be gathering public input to create the direction for the design. That process includes:

  • Online survey: BrandCraft has provided a logo redesign input survey where members of the community can answer questions about what the city represents and give feedback about you want to see in the new design. This survey will be open until June 20.
  • City of Pasco Logo Redesign Ambassadors: The Ambassador group met on June 13 in a Logo Redesign Vision Meeting with City staff and BrandCraft. This diverse community group acts as representatives of the project to the public, encouraging other community members to take the online survey, providing direct feedback on the initial logo concepts, and will get the first look at the final logo design.
  • Public Input Meeting: Using the input received from the online survey and our Ambassador group, BrandCraft and the City of Pasco will put together a plan for the direction of the logo redesign and present it at a Public Meeting on Wednesday, June 20, at 6:30pm in the Pasco Police Community Services Building (215 W. Sylvester). At this meeting there will not be any actual designs, just information showcasing the direction of the design. At this meeting, community members in attendance can review project information and provide any feedback they have on the design direction and even submit their own design ideas!  After this meeting, the design process begins.
  • Final Design Concepts Meeting: BrandCraft will design a few different logo options using the community input received, and these concept options will open for public review and feedback at a meeting held July 30. This is the final public feedback session before the final concept is created- the entire Pasco Community is invited and encouraged to take part!
