The City of Pasco Historic Preservation Commission is responsible for the stewardship of the historic and architecturally significant properties in the City of Pasco. During its 1985 session the Washington State Legislature passed a law which allows a “special valuation” for qualifying historic properties within the state. The primary benefit of the law is that during the ten year special valuation period, property taxes will not reflect substantial improvements made to the property.
Any proposed changes to properties designed as historic landmarks or districts on the Pasco Register of Historic Places requires review by the City of Pasco Historic Preservation Commission and the issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness.
