C. O. P. S. (Citizens Offering Police Services) is a group of citizens who volunteer to supplement the Pasco Police Departments sworn officers. This program draws on time and considerable talents of the citizens who volunteer.
Volunteers are a valuable resource to the department and the community. After 9-11-01, demands on law enforcement have increased dramatically. The civilian volunteers assist the Pasco Police Department in providing quality services to our citizens. Volunteers are utilized in records, evidence and at the local mini-stations. This program builds a strong partnership between local law enforcement and the community. Best practices are employed providing training to volunteers enhancing their experience.
