City of Pasco's Arbor Day Celebration - Let's make the world green! Everyone is invited to join your friends at the City of Pasco's Arbor Day Celebration on Wednesday, April 12th at 10 am or 2 pm. We will be at Kurtzman Park (331 S. Wehe) planting trees. The Mayor will be speaking at the 10 am planting. | April | ||
Family Fun Scavenger Hunt - Join us for the Family Fun Scavenger Hunt. Take your child on an outdoor scavenger hunt and explore some of our great parks, landmarks and other city facilities. This year's event takes place on Saturday, April 29, 2023 beginning at 9 am. Cost is $15 for City of Pasco residents and $18 for non-residents. Register by April 16 at www.pascoparksandrec.com to avoid a $5 late fee. | April | ||
Pasco History Tour Challenge 2023 - This is the inaugural year of the Pasco History Tour. Each Year Pasco Recreation Services Plans to work with the Franklin County Historical Society to bring you a unique tour of the City of Pasco and the surrounding area. As you reach specific milestones along the History Tour route, you will receive emails containing interesting facts and stories about that specific milestone location. Upon completion of the History Tour you will receive a unique one of kind finisher's medal. Participants will have a 7 month window, April - November each year, within which they will need to start and finish their tour. The 2023 Pasco History Tour Challenge theme is "Parks". During the 2023 Pasco History Tour Challenge you will start and end at Sacajawea State Park. As you log miles, by walking, running, biking, swimming and rowing, you will virtually travel in, through, and around Pasco; virtually visiting a majority of Pasco's Parks. The list of parks you will pass by or run through this year are: *Sacajawea, Cable Bridge, *Riverview, Wade, *Chiawana, Richland Bend Habitat Management, Vintage, Island, *Pasco Sporting Complex/GESA Stadium, Capital, Desert Dunes, Big Cross, Sun Willows Golf Course, Centennial, Lucas, Memorial, Sylvester, *Volunteer, Peanuts, Mercier, *Kurtzman, Highland, and Tierra Vida. Once you have completed the full 2023 Pasco History Tour Challenge you will receive a unique finisher's medal that incorporates many of the unique features of the parks you visited along the way. Tri-Cities 2023 Geocoin Challenge Mega Event - Free, Family-Friendly event for new and experienced geocachers. Spend a day geocaching around the Tri-Cities. Those who complete the challenge will receive a free Tri-Cities Geocoin. Kids/Teens (17 and under) who complete the kid's passport will receive a trackable version of the event coin. Pasco Winterfest - December 5-10, 2022. Vendors; Music, Kids' Games & Crafts; Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt; Santa; Heritage Tree Lighting. The Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt takes place December 5th – 9th. Follow clues posted daily at 8 am on our Facebook page (@pascoparks). Find the candy canes hidden throughout Pasco and scan the QR code to earn daily entries into a random prize drawing. This is not a race to be first. This year's prizes are even better than last year's thanks to our sponsor STCU and new this year, a Grand Prize (a Nintendo Switch) will be awarded at the Pasco Winterfest Tree Lighting- must be present to win. The drawing for winners from the 5th-9th entries will be done at noon on Monday, December 12th on our Facebook Live. The Official Candy Cane Scavenger Hunt Rules can be found by clicking the link. Lampson Cable Bridge Run - A tradition typically on the third Saturday in December, this event features 1 mile, 5K and 10K races. With 10 age divisions and a wheelchair division; everyone from the kids to the grandparents can participate. Big Cross Frozen Tundra 2.5 Mile Trail Run - Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Pasco Big Cross (3700 Rd. 36). 10 - 11:45 am. A wintertime race to remember! There are three races to choose from; Coed Recreational, Women's Competitive, and Men's Competitive. Each race has a separate start time and will take up to 80 participants. Participants will be assigned a starting position. Race packets will be available at the assigned start position approximately 20 minutes before each race. The course will be 2.5 miles in length on the woodchip/dirt/gravel trails at Big Cross in Pasco. Click on the link above for more information or to register. | January |
