The Pasco City Council is seeking registered voters in City Council District 2 to apply for the vacancy on Council after the announced resignation of Councilmember Ruben Alvarado.
The City Council intends to fill the vacancy by appointment of a resident and registered voter of Council District 2 as soon as practical, but no later than January. The current term of the District 2 seat expires on December 31, 2023. Thus, the Council’s appointment will serve pending the 2023 election cycle.
Any adult resident and registered voter of District 2 (see map) may seek appointment by contacting the City Manager’s office or online at www.pasco-wa.gov/councilapplication by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, for consideration by the City Council. Following the application deadline, the City Council will determine the date, time, and the number of applicants for an interview; those selected for an interview will be notified of the interview arrangements. Interviews will be conducted during a regular or special meeting of the City Council and open to the public and media.
