TRI-CITIES GEOCOIN CHALLENGE: Travel around all three cities searching for geocaches. Once you have found all the geocaches and code words, present completed entry form to receive your geocoin. AGES: All; DAY/DATE: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, June 27 – June 29, 2014; LOCATION: Horn Rapids County Park; FEE: Free; FOR MORE INFORMATION: Call Pasco Recreation Services at 545-3456

FIVE WEEK FIT CAMP: - Five Week Fit Camp meets four days a week and will guide participants through a mix of different sport training exercises with the end goal of running/walking the 5k (3.1 mile) loop on the International Cross Country Course. AGE: 18+; DAY/DATES/TIME: Monday-Thursday, June 30-July 31, 6:00-7:00am; LOCATION: International Cross Country Course; FEE: $60 (Resident), $90 (Non-Resident)

SWIM LESSONS SESSION #2: It’s never too early or too late to start or continue your journey to becoming an avid swimmer. There are both AM and PM classes for all ability levels. AGES: All; DAY/DATES: Monday-Friday, June 30-July 10 (no class July 4); LOCATION: Memorial Pool; FEE: $20 (Resident), $35 (Non-Resident); REGISTRATION DATES: Residents may begin registering on June 26, Non-Residents on June 27.

COMMUNITY GARDEN GRAND OPENING: The City of Pasco, Parks & Recreation will be holding the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Community Gardens at Kurtzman Park on Saturday, June 28th at 9:00am. Kurtzman Park and the new Community Gardens are located at 331 S. Wehe Ave., in Pasco. The Gardens were made a reality through the combined efforts of The City of Pasco, Benton Franklin Head Start, Master Gardeners, Lowes, Job's Nursery LLC in partner with Gardener and Bloom, and Boy Scout Troop 160 Eagle Scout Michya Slaugh. PARKS & RECREATION MONTH, NRPA SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE: July is National Parks & Recreation Month and the National Recreation and Parks Association is celebrating. As part of the celebration they have organized the “Out is In” Social Media Challenge. They challenge you to get active and get outside, whether it is to go for a walk, have a picnic, ride a bike, go camping, or even just to sit in the sun or shade. They want you to send them a picture of you participating in these activities via Twitter or Instagram using #julyoutisin. They will be giving away one $50 Amazon gift card each day during the month of July and then a $500 gift card on August 1. For the official NRPA “Out is In” Challenge rules, click here.


MEMORIAL POOL OPEN SWIM: Memorial pool is open for the summer! Memorial pool aquatics facility features two pools (a 50 meter lap swim pool and a leisure pool), two waterslides, a splash pad, a diving board, and picnic shelters. There are two open swim sessions each day (Monday – Friday: 1:00-4:30pm & 6:30-8:30pm; Saturday & Sunday: 1:00-4:00pm & 5:00-8:30pm). OPEN SWIM FEES: $3 (Youth 4-17), $5 (Adult). There is also an open Adult Lap Swim Session on weekdays (M-F) from 4:45-5:45pm ages 18 and up. LAP SWIM FEE: $2

WAVEMAKERS AQUA FIT: Oasis Physical Therapy offers something unique for the Tri-Cities! This warm water exercise class includes: *An underwater treadmill, *Upper body strengthening exercises, *Leg strengthening exercises. If you suffer from Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, low back pain, muscle weakness this class might be for you! Monday/Wednesday & Tuesday/Thursday classes available each month. AGE: 18+; LOCATION: Oasis Physical Therapy; FEES (July): M/W Class = $90 (Resident), $135 (Non-Resident), T/TH Class = $100 (Resident), $150 (Non-Resident)

ENHANCE FITNESS: An exercise program designed for mature individuals, focusing on stretching, flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics and strength training. This class is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at the Pasco Senior Center. Sign up for a month at a time. AGE: 40+; LOCATION: Pasco Senior Center; FEES: $30 (Resident), $45 (Non-Resident)
